Chick-fil-A says they do not like same-sex couples (unless they are buying a Chick-fil-A sandwich)

I’ve only been in a Chick-fil-A once in Florida when we were on vacation. I didn’t realize at the time that they are a very bigoted Christian outfit. They are closed for business on the Lawd’s day (which is their problem if they want to lose money because of their imaginary friend beliefs) and they hate gay people.

Yes, Chick-fil-A Says, We Explicitly Do Not Like Same-Sex Couples

except when they are forking over their money to help make Chick-fil-A richer:

Bet Chick-fil-A wishes this month would end. Over the past few weeks, the restaurant chain’s deep ties to the anti-gay movement have been exposed and uncovered by a number of activists, most notably Jeremy Hooper at Good As You. Whether it’s Focus on the Family, the National Organization for Marriage, the Pennsylvania Family Institute, or Exodus International, Chick-fil-A ties run deep.

Of course, the President of Chick-fil-A wants gay people to share no hard feelings. The restaurant will gladly feed homosexuals gobs of chicken sandwiches, after all. But when it comes to marriage, Chick-fil-A believes strongly that same-sex couples just don’t deserve equal rights.

Chick-fil-A’s charitable arm, the WinShape Foundation, has been actively fighting against marriage equality. They’ve hosted conferences with some of the leading opponents of gay marriage in the country. Now comes some email correspondence that Good As You has shared on their blog, where the WinShape Foundation’s Retreat Center — a center run by the charitable arm of Chick-fil-A — admits that they have a severe distaste for LGBT people.

“WinShape Retreat defines marriage from the Biblical standard as being between one man and one woman. Groups/Individuals are welcome who offer wholesome, educational conferences and programs that are compatible with Biblical values and WinShape’s purpose,” WinShape wrote back.

Kind of some corporate speak, right? So the activist wrote back: can you just give a clear-cut answer? And WinShape confirmed:

“We do not accept homosexual couples because of the statement in our contract.”

Then out of the other side of his mouth, so to speak, the President of Chick-fil-A says that all people, including LGBT people, are treated with respect by the restaurant? (Only when they are coughing up money to buy a chicken sandwich?)

Then we have this:

. . . the Human Rights Campaign’s NOMExposed project tried to submit an equality-minded video to the Ruth Institute’s “Reel Love Video Challenge.” The Ruth Institute is an affiliate of the National Organization for Marriage, and they’re running a contest where folks can submit videos talking about what love means. The video below was originally accepted, but then promptly booted out of the project once the Ruth Institute became aware that it actually championed equality for same-sex couples.

Here’s the kicker: the Ruth Institute’s “Reel Love Video Challenge” has a tie-in to Chick-fil-A’s WinShape Foundation. Wouldn’t it be nice to hear why the Ruth Institute and the WinShape Foundation find the below video so offensive? After all, what is love if it isn’t equal?

Yeah, let’s just fucking allow all the bastards discriminate against whoever they want! We’ll take your money, shove shitty food down your throat, but we don’t approve of your lifestyle! G-d no, we wouldn’t want that! What next? No Black people? No Jews? No Muslims? No Asians? What about Inter-racial couples? Pricks!

What can you say, money transcends moral judgments.I’m sure they would find a way to justify catering a party at the playboy mansion if Ol hugh ever got hankering for a Chick-fil-A sandwich.

They also partnered with other pro-family groups on something calledThe Marriage CoMission which gathers anti-gay leaders from cities around the nation for a retreat every year at the WinShape foundations Georgia headquarters to figure out ways to strengthen their movement…………………………..Read the on ………………..Shareon ………………….. Maybe they should provide sandwiches for their local Klan chapter next week.

They don’t have any stores here on Long Island, so I can’t boycott them. I probably wouldn’t patronize them anyway, because I don’t eat Taco Bell, Burger King, KFC and places like that. However, once in a while I will have a Big Mac. I’m more of a Cosi and Panera person.

These religious assholes really are a despicable bunch. I wonder how much money they send to Africa to promote their hateful agenda? If we could only prosecute them for terrorism when their agenda leads to murder in other countries where they operate.

Yes, “biblical.” Where there were also numerous plural marriages, concubines, prostitutes, those who eschewed their spouse because they were infertile/didn’t produce the heirs they desired (in relatively nice and not-so-nice ways), etc.

Good thing that we (a) don’t have any Chick-fil-A’s around these parts (they won’t locate here, either, as they are required to treat all couples equally); (b) there’s an independent restaurant here that makes some goooooood chicken sliders that closely mimic Chick-fil-A; and (c) I have found a brand of chicken patty at the store that does the trick quite nicely.

I’m starting to have trouble keeping track of all the businesses that don’t deserve my business. Better to stay local and shop at stores whose owners/managers/employees you know. I have a hardware store, a card-and-novelty store, restaurants, and bars down pat. Now I just need an extensive housewares store, clothing stores, and a full-service grocer (I can get by with veggies from the farm co-op and bulk foods from the small chain of organic stores, but I do need other items/more affordable choices here and there). Of course, I feel pretty safe shopping at any business here because of our Human Rights Act and non-discrimination rules. At least businesses have to put up with those to locate here.

Hey, Chick-fil-A! Haven’t you heard? Eating chicken makes you gay!

According to [Bolivia’s President Evo] Morales, this [the presence of homosexual men around the world] is due to eating chicken saturated with feminizing hormones “The chicken that we eat is chock-full of feminine hormones. So, when men eat these chickens, they deviate from themselves as men.” Laughter emerged from the audience.

So do the right thing and shut down your business! You don’t want to piss God off, do you? ;)
